San Augustine VINELink Has Changed
Texas replaced county VINE and VINELink with Texas IVSS-Counties on September 1, 2025. The old name remains a familiar search phrase, but repeating old directions would send San Augustine County users down the wrong path. Public search does not require registration. An account is needed to save a record and receive notices.
San Augustine County participation could not be proved from a static official list. Check the live county selector or contact support. The Attorney General lists 866-268-8959 for round-the-clock county-system support. A TDCJ FAQ separately lists 866-393-5445 for county-jail notification questions. If San Augustine does not appear or a record is missing, call the Sheriff's Office at 936-275-2424 and request the booking or release record.

Search San Augustine County IVSS
The goal is to check one person, not browse an unofficial release list. Begin with the full name and any lawful identifier already known, such as date of birth, booking number, or case information. Similar names are common. Never merge records merely because two entries look alike.
- Open IVSS-Counties and use the public person or case search.
- Select or verify San Augustine County if it is offered by the live portal.
- Enter the fields requested by the interface and compare all public identifiers.
- Open the matching record. Read the event type, source date, and custody agency.
- Distinguish released from transferred to TDCJ, escape, death, and court-setting changes.
- Note when the portal was checked, then ask the sheriff for the underlying record.
A missing match has several possible causes. The county may not participate, an upload may lag, the spelling or identifier may differ, or the person may have transferred into another system. San Augustine IVSS Result Fields
IVSS-Counties may carry booking, release, transfer-to-TDCJ, escape, death, and court-event notifications where a county supplies them. Labels can change as the application changes. Interpret the displayed wording, and do not invent a status from a blank field.

A sheriff release sheet remains the stronger local proof. Ask for release date and time, release type, releasing authority, and transfer destination. Pair it with the court order when the legal reason matters. A portal alert may arrive after the source event, so its delivery time is not necessarily the physical departure time.
Register San Augustine Release Alerts
After confirming the person, an account can track offered custody or court events. Current Texas material does not document the old four-digit telephone PIN. Do not add one. Follow the confirmation steps shown by the current portal instead.
- Open the verified person or case record in IVSS-Counties.
- Create an account or sign into the secure portal.
- Register for that record's offered custody and case events.
- Select text, automated call, or email when those choices appear.
- Set offered preferred hours or blackout dates.
- Complete the account and contact-channel confirmation shown on screen.
- Review the active registration in the dashboard.
Existing VINE users should update migrated account passwords and preferences when prompted. A changed phone number or blocked email can stop delivery even when the source event is correct. Review the registration before a date that matters and keep a direct agency route available.
County and TDCJ IVSS Split
Texas operates two distinct notification layers. IVSS-Counties covers participating county-jail and court events. TDCJ IVSS covers state-prison and parole events. A transfer from San Augustine County Jail to TDCJ is not community release, and the county registration does not automatically become the state registration.
The state service can issue notices about parole eligibility, Board decisions, prison release, discharge, return on a bench warrant, and post-release parole warrants. TDCJ Victim Services lists 800-848-4284 and victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov during weekday business hours. The official portal shown below is the state side of this two-system route.
Use the TDCJ offender search as well. It can show location, projected release information, scheduled release fields, and parole-review information. A projected date is an estimate. A scheduled date follows more processing, and actual release should still be confirmed.
TDCJ's service also solves a source problem after transfer. The San Augustine sheriff can document when county control ended, but it cannot certify a later state parole vote or prison discharge. County court notices are another distinct layer. An IVSS court-setting update may concern a hearing, continuance, or other docket event. It does not prove that jail staff released anyone. Obtain the signed order from the District Clerk for a felony case or the proper county-level clerk for a misdemeanor matter. Then compare it with the jail movement time.
Federal custody never shifts into TDCJ IVSS merely because the arrest began in San Augustine County. A federal prosecution belongs in the Bureau of Prisons locator and federal court record. An immigration handoff belongs in the ICE locator and agency channel. Registering with both Texas portals will not cover those systems.
Confirm San Augustine County Events
When IVSS reports release, call the San Augustine County Sheriff's Office and ask for the booking and release sheet tied to that event. Request the booking number, release date and time, release type, and any receiving authority. Then consult the filed court order. A bond order can exist before the jail clears other holds and completes departure, so the court timestamp and jail timestamp can differ without either record being wrong.
If the result says transferred to TDCJ, move to the TDCJ offender search. Confirm the new location and identifiers, then register separately in TDCJ IVSS. A person can stay in the county jail after a state sentence while awaiting pickup. The county departure in that situation is a custodial transfer, not a return to the community.
Conflicts should be resolved by event owner. The sheriff owns its movement code. The clerk owns the filed order. TDCJ owns state admission and release fields. IVSS carries updates from those sources but does not replace them. Save the access date and status shown, since a later update may otherwise look like a contradiction.
San Augustine VINELink Limits
IVSS is not a certified historical archive. Agency participation and upload timing control county coverage. Alerts may lag. A missed call or message does not establish that no release or transfer occurred. Portal data should be checked against the San Augustine County Sheriff's record, the relevant court disposition, or TDCJ records.
Federal Bureau of Prisons custody is outside both Texas services. Use the BOP locator for a federal case. ICE also maintains a separate current-custody locator. Neither system should be treated as part of the county jail, and “not in BOP custody” does not rule out state, local, immigration custody, or supervision.
Finally, keep event types distinct. Release means the reporting agency classified the person as leaving that custody status. Transfer means another authority received the person. Escape and death are not community release. A court event can authorize release before jail staff finish holds and processing. When sources conflict, request the movement code and receiving agency from the sheriff.
